Member Benefits include:
- Referral of individuals to advocacy organizations who can fairly represent their concerns
- Provision of advocacy for individuals unable to represent their concerns who are not served by other advocacy organizations, with a focus on teaching self- advocacy skills
- Systems advocacy in the development, implementation, and monitoring of public mental health policies on behalf of recipients of mental health services
- Legislative advocacy working towards rights protections and adequate funding in all areas of treatment and rehabilitation services
- Annual statewide conference
- Reduced registration costs for trainings offered by PMHCA
- Information and referral on subjects such as free medication programs, self-help/support groups, and treatment options
- Availability of over 800 lending library resources on subjects such as recovery, self-help, alternatives, mental illness, coping, spirituality
- The VISION newsletter, which provides information on current issues, upcoming educational opportunities, and a forum for the exchange of information
- Website (www.PMHCA.org) and email policy alert system to provide timely information on legislative issues and actions that affect the consumer movement
- Ability to nominate regional representatives and vote in the annual elections
