Aging Program Assessor (Local Government)

The Cambria County Area Agency on Aging currently has one full-time vacancy for an Aging Program Assessor (Local Government).

Applications will only be accepted between February 20, 2018 and March 5, 2018. When applying, you must indicate a willingness to accept employment in Cambria County.

Job Duties

You will interview and assess individuals seeking long-term services. You will prepare and distribute reports to County Assistance Office, consumer, and facilities within prescribed timelines. You will complete preadmission screening for individuals identified with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, or other related disabilities. You will provide information to applicants regarding the placement process. You will participate in appeal hearings. In order to be considered, applicants must be PA residents, must pass the associated civil service exam, and must meet the following minimum requirements: one year as an Aging Care Manager 2; OR two years of casework experience including one year of experience performing assessments of client’s functional ability to determine the need for institutional or community based services, and a bachelor’s degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 semester hours credit in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences; OR one year of assessment experience and a bachelor’s degree with a social welfare major; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training including successful completion of 12 semester hours of college level courses in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences. One year of casework experience in the AAA system may be substituted for the year of assessment experience.

Starting Salary: $28,416/annually, plus benefits.

You will be tested after your qualifications are reviewed. The test will be scheduled as soon as possible after the announcement closes for application and your eligibility has been determined. The test will be held in Johnstown at the Hiram G. Andrews Center, 727 Goucher Street.
