Deputy Mental Health Administrator 2 (Local Government)


Bedford-Somerset Developmental and Behavioral Health Services (DBHS) currently has one vacancy for a Deputy Mental Health Administrator 2 (Local Government) (job code L0212). The employment list for County Mental Health Program Director (Local Government) (job code L0753) will be used to fill this need.

Applications will only be accepted between February 5, 2018 and February 16, 2018.

When applying, you must indicate a willingness to accept employment in Bedford and Somerset Counties. The primary work site will be in either Bedford or Somerset County, depending on the applicant. You must be willing to travel. Travel expenses will be paid.

Job Duties for Deputy Mental Health Administrator 2 (Local Government)

You will be responsible for program operations, program planning, coordination, delivery of services, budget monitoring, staff recruitment and retention, staff development and training, and management of services in accordance with county, state, and federal guidelines. You will develop and implement policies and procedures. You will gather statistics to meet reporting requirements. You will provide information to agencies, families, and the general public through reports or presentations.

In order to be considered for Deputy Mental Health Administrator 2 (Local Government), applicants must be PA residents, must pass the required civil service exam, and must meet the qualifications for both Deputy Mental Health Administrator 2 (Local Government) and County Mental Health Program Director (Local Government).

Qualifications for Deputy Mental Health Administrator 2 (Local Government)

One year as a County Mental Health Program Director; OR five years of professional level experience in the field of mental health including three years of administrative, supervisory, or managerial work; and a bachelor's degree; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Qualifications for County Mental Health Program Director (Local Government)

One year as a County Mental Health Program Specialist 2; OR five years of professional level experience in the field of mental health, including three years of administrative, supervisory, or consultative work; and a bachelor's degree; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Starting Salary for Deputy Mental Health Administrator 2: $46,761/annually, plus benefits
