Youth & Young Adult Peer Training


Alongside the advocacy work we do, PMHCA has a selection of trainings that are outstanding. There are trainings for mental health professionals, peer professionals, and anyone who wants to learn more about mental health and recovery. We pride ourselves in the creation of a learning environment that is safe, comfortable, and effective. For most trainings offered, there is an in person, virtual, or hybrid ability. Youth & Young Adult Peer Training

Enhance Your Peer Work Skills with Our 3-Day Workshop.

Join us for this comprehensive workshop designed to improve your knowledge and abilities when working with young adults. Engage in conversations, skill building, and education that focuses on peer empowered story sharing, relationship building, and much more. Certification is provided.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the importance of maintaining ethical boundaries while supporting positive change
  • Define youth engagement and application of best practices
  • Identify peer core values and the many facets of wellness
  • Learn potential risks factors and what to do in a crisis/emergency
  • Develop skills to understand wellness tools, the importance of self-care, and actively participate in the recovery process
  • Practice and Skill Building; Relate to your YAYA peer with a 7-minute introduction

  • April 17th, 2024 thru April 19th, 2024- Training is now being held VIRTUALLY on zoom from 9 am to 4 pm. Cost is $300 per non-member participant/ $270 for members - Register Now!


  • September 24th, 2024 thru September 26th, 2024 Youth and Young Adult Peer Training will be held at the PMHCA Office at 2551 Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA from 9 am to 4 pm. Cost is $300 per non-member/ $270 for members - Register Now!
