Effective training: a Facilitators edition |
Alongside the advocacy work we do, PMHCA has a selection of trainings that are outstanding. There are trainings for mental health professionals, peer professionals, and anyone who wants to learn more about mental health and recovery. We pride ourselves in the creation of a learning environment that is safe, comfortable, and effective. For most trainings offered, there is an in person, virtual, or hybrid ability. If you have questions about listed trainings or are interested in scheduling, please email pmhca@pmhca.org. Effective Training: A Facilitators Edition Effective Training: A Facilitators Edition is a co-created three-day training with Drexel University. This training prepares individuals to teach trainings, lead meetings, and facilitate groups through learning about delivery methods and best practices for training success. Participants will develop strategies to enhance learning, address diverting behaviors, and defuse situations that may occur during facilitation. Through interactive activities, participants will learn the role, strengths, and characteristics of a facilitator. Most importantly, individuals will learn how to create a safe learning environment where each student can actively learn. In this course, participants will co-facilitate a teach-back session on a topic related to their peers to finish the course. Please note: This course does not provide certification or authorization to conduct PMHCA/YMPA trainings. Nonetheless, if interested, your name will be added to our database for potential consideration as a contracted trainer when there is a need within the agency. Learning Objectives:
